  • Did you Know?
  • The Quattro-II is an extremely powerful sine inverter, battery charger and transfer switch inside one compact casing. Like the Quattro, Quattro-II has two AC inputs and automatically connects to the active source. What’s the difference between the Quattro-II and the Quattro? It has a smaller footprint and even lower self-consumption (15W in Zero Load) than the Quattro (35W in Zero Load). In mobile power system applications with limited space, the slim Quattro-II can make wiring easier in a crowded installation.

    Key features:

    • Adaptive battery management system, customizable for various battery chemistries, including Lithium.
    • Change settings in minutes using VE.Configure software on a computer or laptop with an MK3-USB interface
    • Multiple system integration features such as three or split-phase operation and parallel operation.
    • Several monitoring and control options are available, such as a Cerbo GX, laptop, Bluetooth (with the optional VE.Bus Smart dongle), Battery Monitor, and Digital Multi Control Panel.

  • The Quattro-II is available in a 24/5000/120-50 and 48/5000/70-50 model. These powerful units can provide single-phase power with a single unit, 240/480V split-phase power with a pair of units, and even 3-phase power for more complex systems. They can also be stacked in parallel for even more power. Up to 6 Quattro-II 48/5000 Inverter/Chargers can be stacked in parallel to provide 30,000VA (that’s up to 60,000W of Peak Power), and in a large multiphase system, you can design up to 120kVA in inverter power with more than 1600A of charge capacity.

What's in a name? Victron’s naming convention describes the system's potential based on its design.

    Example: Quattro-II 24/5000/120-50/50 230V

    • 48 Volt DC battery
    • 5000 Volt Amps continuous power rating
    • 120 Amp DC battery charger
    • 50 Amp AC pass-through transfer relay
    • 50 maximum AC input current
    • 230 Volt AC inverter

  • The Multiplus II is a bi-directional inverter charger. If your inverter charger is in a camper van or RV, this means that even when connected to shore power, you have access to the full potential of the inverter. You’ll be able to charge your battery at maximum current without compromising your ability to power your van or RV off of a grid tie or generator. This could allow your system to run off of a smaller battery bank or a smaller, more fuel-efficient generator. This automatic function, called PowerAssist, is built into every Victron Energy inverter/charger.

    Going off-grid with Victron Energy

Homeowner and solar installer Eric Enquist lives with his family in Boulder, MT. Last summer, he disconnected his house from the grid to install an off-grid system powered by solar, Pylontech batteries, and Victron Energy components. We sat down to ask him about his experience and to share advice with homeowners designing their own system.
