Galvanic corrosion occurs when two dissimilar metals in electrical contact are simultaneously exposed to an electrically conducting fluid. If the shore power source is not isolated, this second unintended ground will create electrolysis and corrode your propeller right off! Adding isolation to your grounded connection is a tried and true way of stopping these currents and protecting your investment.
