BlueSolar MPPT solar chargers gather energy from your solar panels and store it in your batteries. Using ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology, BlueSolar MPPTs are constantly monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar (PV) panel and making instantaneous adjustments to optimize solar performance. This is particularly helpful in less-ideal but real-life conditions such as cloudy or hot days and low light in the morning or evening. BlueSolar safely and intelligently drives your battery bank to a full state of charge in the shortest amount of time possible, protecting and extending the life of your battery.
Remotely control a BlueSolar MPPT charger using VictronConnect by attaching a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle or connect the MPPT with a VE Direct cable to a GX device, such as a Global Link 520 or Cerbo GX, to transmit PV and battery information to the Victron Remote Management portal.
Features include:
- MaximumPower Point Tracking (MPPT), outperforming a PWM charge controller by up to 30% and a slower MPPT solar charger by up to 10%.
- Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection to maximize charging even when panels are in partial shade.
- Outstanding efficiency (exceeding 98%) and full output current up to 104°F.
- Automatic battery voltage recognition.
- Eight preprogrammed algorithms, selectable with a rotary switch (see manual for details), or manually set charge parameters to the specifications of your exact battery.
- Over temperature protection and power derating when the temperature is high, as well as PV short circuit and PV reverse polarity/PV reverse current protection.

Blue Solar MPPT 100/30 and 100/50 solar charge controllers will connect to 12V or 24V systems. Multiple Blue Smart MPPT chargers can be used in parallel. For larger systems, we recommend using models with a VE.Can
communication port.
The name of the solar charger reflects the maximum PV voltage and the maximum battery charge current. For example, a BlueSmart MPPT 100/30 has a maximum PV voltage of 100V and can charge the battery with a maximum of 30A.

Each solar panel has its own performance curve and a peak performance number based on temperature and how much sun is reaching them. Finding and staying near that peak performance number dramatically improves PV output. Victron MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology makes constant adjustments based on input current to find the most power.
BlueSolar and SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers also allow you to bring in a higher voltage from the solar array. Altogether, this means we can start charging and putting power into the batteries even when conditions are not ideal, such as low light in the morning and evening. This significantly expands the time window to charge the batteries, especially when compared to a PWM solar charger.
